The Munich publisher Novum, started in 1924 under the name Gebrauchsgraphik. Already during the first decades of its existence the magazine developed into a seminal prototype for latter-day graphic design magazines such as Graphis (USA), Communication Arts (USA) or Idea (JPN). And still maintains a position as one of the few design magazines graphic designers and students throughout the world eagerly turn to for inspiration.
