Life Sciences is an area of education that combines existing disciplines like biology, chemistry, pharmacology, informatics, physics and nutrition and also marketing. Zuyd University is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands. To promote this new area of study, Boy Bastiaens and Albert Kiefer were approached in 2002 by Guido Provaes from Infour to design a visual icon plus a promotional animation for the public days of the new Life Sciences study.
