Life Sciences is a area of education that combines existing disciplines like biology, chemistry, pharmacology, informatics, physics and nutrition and also marketing. Zuyd University is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands.

To promote this new area of study, Boy Bastiaens and Albert Kiefer were approached in 2002 by Infour to design a visual icon plus a promotional animation with accompanying music for the public days of the Life Sciences study.
